Shift – 5:00 am – 3:30 pm

Monday – Thursday

Overtime may be required


Job Brief

As a KEITH Manufacturing Co. Welder I you will be responsible for setting up and operating manual or semiautomatic welding machines.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for welding together parts of fabricated metal products, as specified by layouts, welding procedures, and operating charts: welds cylindrical or irregular parts that may be clamped or otherwise positioned
  • Able to operate required machinery in the area
  • Understands proper quality weld standards (including slag removal)
  • Visually examines welds for adherence to specifications; may grind welded surfaces for penetrant test when necessary
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, problem-solving, troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Maintain a “customer first” mindset for productivity and quality
  • Meets agreed upon Company and department goals in a timely manner
  • Arrives to work, meetings, and appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled

Peripheral Duties

  • Responsible for communicating with Leads any operating concerns
  • May position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture
  • May operate other machine equipment to prepare components for welding

Minimum Qualifications

  • Welding experience preferred
  • Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and accessories
  • Have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
  • Able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
  • May be required to pass employer performance tests
  • Be at least 18 years of age

Working Conditions

  • Works in a Weld Shop
  • Exposure to intense light and hot material
  • Exposure to continual noise daily from machines

Equipment/Machinery Used

  • TIG/MIG, Grinders

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit or stand for 10 hours at a time
