Shift – 5:00 am – 3:30 pm       Monday – Thursday

Overtime may be required

Job Brief

As the KEITH Manufacturing Co. Sawyer, you will be responsible for determining the best method to use for cutting material and verifying dimensions on finished products for adherence to specifications.

Essential Functions

– Responsible for setting up and operating manual or semiautomatic saws

– Responsible for cleaning coolant off sawn parts

– Responsible for basic saw maintenance and cleaning

– Able to operate required machinery in the area

– Understands proper quality saw standards

– All other duties as assigned

– Self-directed, requiring little or no supervision

– All other duties as assigned

– Responsible for checking completed parts to meet KEITH Quality Control standards

– Maintain a “customer first” mindset for productivity and quality

– Maintain 6S in work area

– Meets agreed upon Company and department goals in a timely manner

– Arrives at work, meetings, appointments functions on time and as scheduled

Peripheral Duties

– May position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture

– May operate other equipment to prepare components for sawing

Minimum Qualifications

– Sawyer experience preferred, but not necessary

– May be required to pass employer performance tests

– Be at least 18 years of age

– Able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square

– Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently

Working Conditions

– Works in a Saw Shop

– Exposure to continual noise daily from machines

– Exposure to intense light and hot materials

Equipment/Machinery Used

– Sawing machinery

– Measuring instruments; tape measures and calipers

– MIG welder

– Forklift/side loader

Physical Requirements

– Able to sit or stand for at least 8 to 10 hours at a time

– Able to lift 25 lbs.
