Hydraulic Assembly/Foundry Operator


Salary – DOE

Location – Madras, OR

Shift – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Monday – Friday

Overtime may be required


Job Brief

As a KEITH Manufacturing Co. assembler and foundry operator, you will assemble hydraulic components in the tube shop. In the foundry you will perform any combination of tasks concerned with melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings from molds, dressing castings, moving foundry materials, and cleaning equipment and work areas.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate capability in assembling finished and semi-finished parts, as well as reading and comprehending prints
  • Able to assemble hydraulic components
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Operate ovens or furnace to bake cores or to melt, skim, and flux metal
  • Weigh out specified amounts of materials for furnace charge, and load charge into melting furnace
  • Clean and smooth molds, core boxes, and repair surface imperfections
  • Tend machine used in the foundry
  • Responsible for checking completed parts to meet KEITH quality control standards
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, problem-solving, troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Maintain a “customer first” mindset for productivity and quality
  • Meets agreed upon Company and department goals in a timely manner
  • Arrives to work, meetings, and appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled

Peripheral Duties

  • Able to operate other equipment in the area when necessary
  • Inspect all equipment periodically to ensure it is operating properly
  • Replace faulty equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience preferred
  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • May be required to pass employer performance tests
  • Be at least 18 years of age

Working Conditions

  • Works in a Production Shop
  • Exposure to intense light and hot material
  • Exposure to continual noise daily from machines

Equipment/Machinery Used

  • Various machinery

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit or stand for 8 to 10 hours at a time
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
