As a KEITH Manufacturing Co. Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and studying technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installations and operations conform to KEITH Manufacturing Co. quality standards and customer requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, components, products, and KEITH systems
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and test activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Support value streams through debugging, repair, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of electrical systems
  • Recommend and implement techniques that enhance design performance, reduce cost, and improve assembly processes and equipment
  • Maintain a “Customer First” mindset for productivity and quality
  • Meet agreed upon Company and Value Stream goals on time
  • Arrive to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled

Peripheral Duties

  • Create and maintain existing automation, designs, and PLCs
  • Identify areas for development and improvement and present solutions to management accordingly
  • Program, specify, troubleshoot
  • Apply NEC, CE, and UL standards
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, CAD, Cam files
  • Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications; test designs to ensure they meet specifications
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision with defined timelines
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls
  • Assist in the creation of electrical controls and participate in projects related to new automation equipment and repairs of existing equipment
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Work with production leaders and operators to solve problems with production equipment and/or process
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner

Technology & Knowledge

  • Electrical schematic drawings (CAD)
  • 3D Modeling Software
  • Inventor Plus
  • NEC, UL, CE
  • PLC, HMI programming experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering with PE License preferred
  • Robotic experience a plus
  • Minimum of 1-year electrical panel design and build experience
  • Solid knowledge of electrical and control engineering principals
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Proficient with all complex measuring equipment
  • Able to travel when necessary
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Be at least 18 years of age
