Keith Foster Engineering Scholarship
2011 - Ian Patrick
Ian Patrick, of Sisters, was awarded the 2011 scholarship. Ian is a 2011 graduate of Sisters High School and is enrolled in Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he plans to study mechanical engineering.
The selection committee was impressed with Ian's problem-solving capabilities demonstrated in the Innovative Solutions portion of the scholarship application. Applicants were asked to submit a concept for a clean out system to be used in conjunction with a WALKING FLOOR conveyor.
Ian was selected for his dedicated focus on academics. He credits his stepfather, who is an engineer with the military, for his interest in the field. As he continues his college education, he would also like to explore electrical engineering.
Ian joins past scholarship recipients in receiving a $2,500 per year stipend, as well as summer internships with the company.
